Break Settings
General Settings
- Break Name - an identifier for the break.
- Punched Break Type - Selections that define the parameters for the break. You are able to choose; Do Not Punch for Break, Time of Day (Floating), Duration (Floating) or Fixed.
- Time of Day (Floating)
- Break May Start Between - Enter the time of day that represents the window when the break can be started.
- Earliest - This setting defines the beginning of the time window where a punch can start the break.
- Latest - This setting defines the end of the time window where a punch can start the break.
- Break Length - Use this field to define the length of the punched break.
- Extended Break Length - Enter the maximum time allowed for the break. If this time is exceeded, the punches will not be considered as break punches but as normal In and Out punches.
- Rounding Rule For Extended Break - Select how the total time of the break will round if it exceeds the break length but is less than the extended break length.
- Duration (Floating)
- Break May Start Between - Enter the amount of time from the start of the shift that represents the window when the break can be started.

- Fixed
- After Start of Shift (Hrs:Min) - Enter the amount of time from the start of the shift that begins and ends the break.
- Break Begins - This setting defines when the break begins based on the start time of the shift.
- Break Ends - This setting defines when the break ends base don the start time of the shift.
- Extended Break Length - Enter the maximum time allowed for the break. If this time is exceeded, the punches will not be considered as break punches but as normal In and Out punches.
- Rounding Rule For Extended Break - Select how the total time of the break will round if it exceeds the break length but is less than the extended break length.
- Automatically Deduct Break - Selections that define the parameters for breaks that are automatically deducted. You are able to choose Do Not Auto-Deduct Break or Automatically Deduct Break.
- Minimum Hours Worked To Qualify - Enter the amount of time that must be accumulated to qualify for the automatic deduction.
- Amount of Time to Deduct From End of Day - Enter the amount of time that will be deducted from the day total.
- Paid Break Type - Selections that define whether the break is paid or unpaid. You are able to choose Employees Are Not Paid or Employees Are Paid.
